Claudia Jung is the heart and soul of Vila Joya. She is the person who turned her passion and vision into reality. The combination of her hospitable disposition, very individual way of design and uncommon sensibility to detail resulted in the creation of Vila Joya or, as everyone calls it after their first visit, a “PARADISE”.

With the start of “Tribute to Clauida” in 2007 we all wanted to pay homage to that extraordinary woman, as well as celebrate the 25th anniversary of Vila Joya.

On that occasion an unprecedented gastronomic event in Portugal took place.. Klaus Jung and his daughter Joy, the present manager of Vila Joya, together with the site’s Chef Dieter Koschina and a whole team of helpers launched a week of absolutely amazing cooking, in this way commemorating Claudia Jung, the Lady who made all that happen.
